I personally was never a fan of just how bulky my 15.4 inch laptop messenger bag was – now that I’m dealing with a 10.1 inch netbook bag I’m much happier. One big different from the two types of messengers is the fact that netbooks are small enough to be put into either a vertical or a horizontal positioning. I personally am enjoying a vertical alignment messenger bag, and I use it as my normal purse as well.

Netbook Backpack

A netbook backpack is a no brainer for high school and college students – the netbook is about the same size as most books (although they are much thinner) so a good sized backpack for a netbook should give you plenty of space for your books and other gadgets as well. If you spend a lot of time traveling light, this would also be a good idea, although not quite as good as a specific travel bag made for the netbook. Many backpacks are also convertible into messenger bags or plain cases, although that depends on the brand.

If you travel for business, you are going to want a bag that can fit most of your essentials along with your netbook. Along with the pocket and size consideration, you’re also going to want to have a netbook case that is TSA approved as far as ease of checking. Most travel specific netbook bags are made in this way, so you won’t have to worry about getting slowed down in the security checks.

The typical netbook case resembles a type of brief case. It has a handle, usually a nice leather or faux leather finish, and plenty of pockets to carry along all of your essential gadgets. This is a great type of netbook bag if you’re a professional on the go – it really gives you a great look. There is usually a compartment for the netbook that is padded, along with many different pockets for your cell phones, papers, and other business essentials.
